When Katie and her mum Helen combined their talents together Katie once a fashion designer, now costume designer for film and tv had her first child “billee” and needed a new creative outlet while taking time off work. Helen had recently sold her children’s clothing and gift shop and was looking also for a new avenue to explore and fulfill her artistic needs. They noticed a lack of hand made gifts available for children, everything seemed to be mass produced and mainstream and there was very little in the way of rag dolls and so, the creation of raggidy rag dolls.
